The “Energy Efficiency: How Does the State Help the Populace?” discussion took place on July 12. Participants included Diana Korsakaite, Chief of Party of the USAID Municipal Energy Reform Project in Ukraine (USAID Project), Serhii Savchuk, SAEE Chairman, representatives of the Association of Energy Auditors of Ukraine, Civil network OPORA, International Financial Corporation, the chairmen of condominiums from Ukrainian cities, and journalists

The discussion focused on issues of state energy efficiency policy. Chairman Savchuk delivered a presentation on the results of the national survey on the efficiency of the State Program of Support to the Implementation of Energy Efficiency Measures for Condominiums, which was conducted with USAID support Also, the chairmen of condominiums from Lutsk, Lviv and Kharkiv told about their experience of energy efficiency measures implementation with loan funds, and about the mechanism of loan repayment.

Diana Korsakaite stated that, “We are very pleased that 98% of the respondents indicated that their experience of participation in this program was positive. And I am extremely pleased to mention that this happened with the help of our Project, as 20% of the respondents said that they received information on the energy efficiency measures and state energy efficiency support program from the Condominium Clean Energy Resource Centers that are currently operating in 13 partner cities”.
