To increase awareness of the residents regarding implementation of the energy saving technologies, the official information site on energy efficiency was created. Currently, it is being updated. There is a permanent exhibition of energy saving technologies and equipment in the City Hall. In the first quarter of 2015, the site visits to industrial enterprises were organized to disseminate the experience and advantages of energy efficiency improvements in the city.

The USAID Project is conducting information campaigns in the city. Outdoor social advertising "Insulate correctly!" developed by the USAID Project is placed in Dnipro on 81 billboards and 12 city-lights. In September 2015, the Sustainable Energy Days were conducted in Dnipro. In 2016, four schools of the city participated in the national competition on energy saving within the framework of the USAID Project. School №133 became one of the winners.

SUPPORT OF CONDOMINIUM RESOURCE CENTERS

A Condominium Resource Center was created in Dnipro within the framework of the USAID Project on the basis of NGO "Association of Condominiums and Housing Cooperatives of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast "Our House" (Condominium RC).

In the period from 1 January 2015 to 1 July 2016, 3,050 citizens and initiative groups addressed the Condominium RC asking for help. The Resource Center team helped to hold 173 information meetings for the co-owners of multi-apartment building on establishment of the condominiums. 

In eighteen months, 24 training seminars were organized in Dnipro and cities of Dnipropetrovsk oblast, RC participated in the outreach events (conferences, round tables) in Lutsk, Zaporizhia, Piatyhatki, Novomoskovsk. Every Saturday, the seminars for the initiative groups and condominium chairmen are held at the RC on topical issues related to functioning and establishment of the condominiums. Condominium RC consultants contributed to creation of the Resource Center in Novomoskovsk, Dnipropetrovsk region, as well as initiated development and adoption of the oblast program for compensation of interest on the loans received by the condominiums.

During the first half of 2016, 234 condominium were created in the city (in 2015 – 70). As of 1 July 2016, there are 549 condominiums in Dnipro.

On 13 July 2016, during the eleventh regular session of the Dnipropetrovsk City Council, the deputies approved the Program of Support to Condominiums for 2016-2020. It is aimed at implementing priority measures on modernization and improved energy efficiency of the city housing stock, in particular, on the terms of co-financing, as well as for compensation of interest rates on attracted credits, according to the State Targeted Economic Energy Efficiency Program. Total amount of financial resources from the municipal budget required for program implementation is UAH 540 mln., including UAH 60 mln. in 2016, and UAH 120 mln. in every subsequent year.
