USAID Project Information Campaign
The USAID Municipal Energy Reform Project in Ukraine is implementing a wide information campaign, including Lutsk. These measures are especially important as they educate the Ukrainians as conscientious consumers of energy resources and stress the individual responsibility of everyone for heat and comfort in their homes, management of own housing, etc. And the information campaign measures can have significant effect while expenses are relatively low. 12 billboards of the Project were placed in Lutsk. The Project is negotiating with the Volynska Oblast State TV and Radio Company broadcasting of TV show “Your Home” created within the framework of the USAID Project (which tells about different aspects of management of a multi-apartment building, use of alternative energy sources, etc.).
The European Sustainable Energy Week was conducted in the city on June12-19.
CONDOMINIUM RESOURCE CENTERS SUPPORT
The Condominium Clean Energy Resource Center was established in Lutsk within the framework of the USAID Municipal Energy Reform Project in Ukraine and on initiative of the Association of Condominiums “Luchany”. In 2015 – 1 quarter of 2016, 78 initiative groups of the residents addressed the Resource Center asking for help in establishment of the condominiums. Over the same period of time, the Resource Center team conducted 100 information meetings for the residents of Lutsk. As of 1 April 2016, there are 300 condominiums established in the city.
23 condominiums of Lutsk received positive responses to their applications on participation in the Program on promotion of Condominium Activities in Lutsk for 2016. They had their projects for co-financing of the energy efficiency measures approved (in correlation 70%/30%, where 70% is funds of the municipal budget, and 30% is funds of the residents).
The Resource Center representatives regularly take part in the Project training seminars, they also disseminate their positive experience of condominium establishment and implementation of the energy efficiency measures among the Resource Centers of Ukraine. Currently, the work is conducted on creation on the basis of the Resource Center and AC “Luchany” of the Energy Efficiency Center.
