USAID Project Information Campaign
The USAID Municipal Energy Reform Project is implementing a wide information campaign, including in Kryvyi Rih, as teaching Ukrainians to be responsible consumers of energy resources is a very important task. The information campaign measures can give a significant effect at relatively low expense. As a result, everyone can feel their own responsibility for the heat and comfort in their apartments, for managing their own housing, etc.
The municipal TV channel in Kryvyi Rih broadcasts the program “Your Home”created with USAID Project support on UA:PERSHYI channel. The "Insulate Correctly!" outdoor social advertising from the USAID Project is placed in the city on 23 billboards. The city has been taking part in European Sustainable Energy Week for several years now.
In spring 2016, five Kryvyi Rih secondary schools participated in the competition on energy saving conducted within the framework of the USAID Project. Kryvyi Rih secondary school # 86 was one of the winners.
Implementing information (“soft”) measures is planned in the Catalog of Investment Projects. However, no funding is planned for them beyond what is already included in the municipal budget. The main goal of information measures is raising the culture of energy consumption and decreasing irrational energy consumption. The measures envisaged for this sector include the use of the European “Display” software for the energy certification of public and residential buildings; support in formation for the effective housing owner (assistance in the creation of self-organization bodies by the populace in the housing sector); quarterly monitoring and analysis of energy resources consumption; creation of a permanent informative exhibition of the energy efficient products and technologies, etc.
