This measure includes adding a heat insulation layer to the heat insulation system for the building envelope and roof balustrade (if any), along with further painting works. The following materials may be used as insulators:

  • mineral wool, rockwool or eco wool (density 145 kg/m3 and K value not more than 0.045 W/m·°С);
  • polystyrene foam and extruded polystyrene foam (grade P25-P35);
  • polyurethane foam (K value not more than 0.040 W/m·°С);
  • urea formaldehyde foam insulation (with similar indicators);
  • foam glass (K value not more than 0.044 W/m·°С).

The most popular insulation technologies include:

  • insulation with fastened heat insulation; and
  • "ventilated façade" insulation.

In low-storied buildings with polystyrene foam insulation, the roof bearing structures should be made from inflammable materials (usually, they are made from wood), or the framing of the cornice zone should be made with inflammable heat insulation material. It is prohibited to substitute grade P25-P35 polystyrene foam with P15 foam. Using polystyrene foam in ventilated façade systems is not allowed.

Cost of work on installation of façade insulation including materials: up to UAH 740 per 1 m2 for mineral wool and up to UAH 650 per 1 m2 for polystyrene foam.
