Insulation of Pipelines in the Heating Systems
This measure calls for insulating or replacing existing insulation to prevent heat losses from the pipelines located in non-heated premises. It is recommended to use insulating cylinders of polyethylene or polystyrene foam or basalt fibers that are ready for use. The insulating cylinders must be covered with a layer of aluminum foil reinforced with fiberglass. These cylinders are split to enable installation directly on the existing pipeline. The K value of the material must be 0.04–0.038 W/m·оС. It is recommended to insulate the stop valves with the same material. Depending on the diameter of the distribution pipes, the heat insulation must be 30–50 mm thick.
The cost of applying highly efficient heat insulation may reach UAH 80 per meter of pipeline for 40 mm diameter pipelines.
