With the necessary expert support provided by the USAID Municipal Energy Reform Project in Ukraine (USAID Project) to Chernihiv, the city will be able to attract from the European Investment Bank about EUR 6 million for procurement of 40 new energy-efficient trolleybuses for implementation of the project "Improving Electric Public Transport Efficiency in Chernihiv." In order to obtain these funds, the city sought assistance from USAID Project experts who, in accordance with the Bank's requirements, prepared a detailed analysis of the city's transport sector (economic, financial, energy and environmental analysis), as well as developed a feasibility study for the project. Implementation of this project will allow Chernihiv to reduce the share of worn out rolling stock from 82% to 68%, as well as to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Find out more here.
